Mammoth informative undertaking, I learned a new word (parataxis), and it was in alphabetical order... Was this all off the top of your head?

yeah, basically. made a note of genres/periods (ie. ancient greek) then wrote down names that came to mind - anything that i either liked or had a big impact on me (not neccessarily the same thing)...took a few hours...and i still feel like its only the tip of the iceberg, as they say...huge gaps (such as science fiction/fantasy authors, or metal bands, or asian directors...) as i write this, i've thought of a dozen more names/films/books/albums...

its amazing how much information one digests over the years...this is turning into an experiment in memory
